Hey all-
I had one heck of a good day yesterday! CSX was having their Collinwood Yard's "Open House" for the public. I obviously went, and man was it great!
CSX 5245 (ES44DC) was parked out, and you were able to get into it, which I did and my dad got a cab shot of me in the engineer's seat. One of the CSX workers was also taking pics of the kids/people in the engineer's seat.
A rare HLCX ex Trona SD45-2 was in the shops with CSX 8709 (SD60). CSX 1177 and 1187 (MP15AC) were parked at the yard. CSX 9156 (RCPHG4) was also there.
As I climbed into the CSX 5245, a Southern Pacific (unpatched) AC4400CW and a UP AC4400CW passed by with a loaded coal train (no photos of that). But I did have a great time with 32 pics.
Oh yes, and later on at Akron, OH, I had a rare catch of a UP SD50 pulling a two mile long train of nothing but empties. The SD50's number was 9840.

Rich- a Unpatched SP and a UP on a CSX loaded coal train SWEET!. What was the Trona number 6412? If it was I saw that twice in Folkston, its also a ex HLCX engine.
The 9840 is now in Maryland pulling bare tables.

Max and I did go railfanning and caught a Santa Fe SD39 switching 17th street yard over in Superior. That is one nice EMD. Got pictures of it.
Also saw a Union Pacific Manifest train come through Saunders and go down to Pokegama Yard (CN's yard). About two minutes after the UP train went by a Canadian Pacific Grain train came roaring out of Saunders. All three locomotives were EMD Sd40-2s!!! There is no sound greater than SD40-2s notched out!
Had quite allot of fun. We also saw, on the way home, three SD60s painted in the SOO Line scheme. Those things are getting rare to find!!! In the back ground was our famous SD9s idling away!!

Man, it's literally been YEARS since I saw a 3-unit consist of CP SD40-2s...and my mum's automatic camera butchered the photograph of the last train I saw with that consist...

Oskar, I have only been in three engines. I have been in WLE 3034, which is the engine that I rode several miles in at Medina, OH. I have been in WLE 6347 (EMD Blue paint) SD40-2. And I have been into CSX 5245 (ES44DC).
Engines/Cabrides I almost got/got into: Well, I almost got a cabride from Horseshoe Curve, PA to Pittsburgh, PA back in May, the engineer and conductor were really nice. We met them at a gas station.
I have almost gotten into WLE 3080, still vaguely in Rio Grande lettering. I have almost been into WLE 300, in UP paint along with WLE 4025 and 4018.
That is about all for me. Oh yeah, my friend Tom Habak has been in Loram RG 306 when it was parked at Berea back in real early June, I have yet to get into one of those.
This just in- Intermountain is releasing CGW F units in the as delivered paint scheme!! FP7A w/ or w/o sound, F7B w/ or w/o sound.

Anyway, nothing new here. I am retracking my yard on my layout. instaed of three tracks , there will now be seven. A big add on for my layout. I will have much more room.

This place sure has been dead lately. Not much going on at all over here, I've just been doing some routine work on the module, nothing special to report, and I haven't done a whole lot in the way of railfanning lately. I've been checking into this place, but there hasn't been any new posts and I've had nothing to write about.....
James, expansions of yards is almost always a good thing. I know when I added even two more tracks to my yard it helped imensly, and when my club added a few more staging tracks to our layout it has helped to get rid of some of the congestion too.
