I have wanted his blood ever since.

    Thank you
    Alexander

    Too late.

    Stop your bickering... it's pathetic.

I think you two have lost touch with why we host this forum. It isn't so you two can argue about meaningless dribble all night. Discuss railroad-related topics or leave.

.......nah, not really! LOL I prefer CNW over UP by a long shot! UP still should've left that 8575 for future museums etc.

Oh yeah, one more thing concerning UP (and this is for everyone who has a problem with UP, not just Rich).

Try to keep in mind that they run a railroad, not a museum. When they're finished with that locomotive (for the purpose of running a railroad), a museum can buy it and repaint it. I know it sounds harsh, but their business is railroading, not tourism.

  • Well, I see I have missed a lot. I hate to see the posts of hating each other, and that is the reason that I have not been checking in lately. If the topic gets deleted, and if another one would be started, I wouldn't even bother checking in there.

Alexander, I am with Bergie on this one: "I want his blood" That to me sounds like a serious threat, and from what I am reading from here, you do seem like a little baby.

It is good to see that Chris is back again.

Oscaletrains, I haven't gotten the chance to read my CTT, I have been too busy with rebuilding a Public Garden Railroad at the Morris Arboreuteum, as well as taking exams. Today was my last day, so I guess I can find time to go look for it, and read it.

  • Erik, while it is most definitely true that they are running a railroad and not a museum, they are an interesting case. They seem to be railfan minded in some cases, and they also have one of the most obtrusive patch jobs in history. They have the heritage units, which shows that they care about their history, and same with the steam program. Then they go and put the exact same patch on every loco indiscriminately. I'm fine with them patching locos, but I dislike the way they do it. Look at BNSF, the western counterpart to UP. The type is the same font and colour as the existing type on the locomotive, the patchis usually small, and it's unobtrusive. Why can't UP do it this way? They're already going to a lot more trouble making the heritage units.
Of course, it's all a bit late now...

That is exactly what i have been trying to say
  • zito yellow pwns when paired with green. though i swear i saw orange CNW locomotives back in the good ol days. i'm not saying armor yellow looks bad, i'm saying the way UP uses too much of it does. i wish a museum WOULD buy a CNW locomotive and repaint it. also my wish with the WC SD45s. but that news is unknown till the auctions all end

    Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

  • Ok ok ok...........

So i come back from camp, and have to read all this garbage?

First of all, Matt and Alex, SPECIALLY ALEX.

Use AOL, or something else. You all know how much i hate this. You both wasted about 3 pages........ Alexander, if you dont care about the last CNW C40-8, then DONT POST! Your always the first to point out the obvious. I think everyone knows UP can do what they want. I think everyone knows that the railroads dont care about what railfans think. And then you act like you are better than everyone, when you really sound stupid.

    GROW UP OR LEAVE

Anyways, when i got back today, I dropped off my bags at the house and had my mom cart me around to take a few shots.

Went to UP's Midway yard, no shots, then went to BNSF's Northtown yard (really University Ave) and saw 3 CP trains (1st train had a CP SD40-2,SOO 6059 SD60M, 2nd had CP 8602 and the 9602 AC44W's, 3rd had SOO 6027 and the SOO 6051, both SD60s). BNSF showed up 3 times. First train had BNSF Dash 9, Santa Fe patched B40-W, and a Dash 9. 2nd had a Dash 8 and an ex BCR SD40-2. 3rd had a Santa Fe patched GP39-2 and another BNSF painted GP39-2 trailed.

    Pics will be posted later.
