TEEN RAILFAN PLACE-LET'S TALK TRAINS! Thread Locked

  • Oh yeah Lord Atmo, Congrats on your 100th post
  • Oskar - Check this out: http://unicapital.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=395129

Primer UP 8468 (SD70ACe) headed towards NS's "Juniata Shops" in Altoona, PA to be painted. Caught this guy as the fourth unit on a NS manifest train today (6/4/06).

While also at Berea, OH today I caught to CSX GEVOs on a fast moving 75 mph eastbound Q164. 5210 and 5336!

Caught a six-unit lash-up on NS (NS, BNSF, NS, NS, NS, NS). Which was fairly good seeing on a usually "double-catfish" railroad.

I saw CSX 607 blinking both of it's ditchlights at the same time pulling three UP SD70Ms and a scrap train which was pretty sweet and I got the CSX 4714 (SD70AC) that is missing the nose logo with CSX 656 (AC60CW) puling Q268, an auto rack train.

Over all, I give today a 8 out of 10. Another cool thing was seeing NS 4815 (Conrail Paint - B40-8) and 5432 (Conrail Paint - SD50) pulling a roadrailer (Triplecrown).

    Talk to ya later!

Doesnt the BNSF service this area too? Cos i'd much rather be a bum on a BNSF train!

  • Lol, ya do this. Catch a Seatle-Northtown train, and then once you get to Northtown, hitch a CP train to Superior!

Anyway I am making quite the progress with my little module layout. I have almost all the wiring done for the thing. Next I need to go and get some ballast and get to the scenery. Somewhat bare at the moment.

  • Lol, Max, it doesnt hurt for you to ever admit your wrong. I have seen plenty of things around here, from CN not having SD40-2W's, or GP40-2L's, or UP leasing the ACe's. So maybe it was your fault maybe it wasnt. Dont be so mad about it.

  • Oskar - the 4709 still doesn't have a nose logo. I belive that 4709 and 4714 are the noly two remaining CSX units without nose logos.

I have no clue if the UP SD70ACe I caught yesterday, will be become a Heritage Unit. It was no. 8468 according to the number boards which you can see clearer in this pic: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=348992

As for CSX GEVOs that I've seen, I caught 5234 with paint. I belive the three that 'were' remaining in primer have been painted. (5217, 5224 and 5234)

That's not a valid excuse with CN...any road that goes as far south as New Orleans, you can't say "I'm american, it's not near me"...it's got as many american miles as KCS..well, close at least..
    Nothing new with me...
