TEEN RAILFAN PLACE-LET'S TALK TRAINS! Thread Locked

  • Hey everyone-

Sorry that I havent been posting here. It is just that the conversation going on is not interesting to me at all and everyone here has been talking about it for several weeks. It goes either between model railroads or mid-western railroad occurneces or locos.

I may take a long absence for this, and I'm not acting childish, I'm just not interested in this discussion.

  • Nanaimo, I see no answer.
And Alec, so youve heard that EXACT unit on the radio id'd as IMRL? Because that would be illegal. They would have to add an I to legally id it as IMRL. Railroads are very picky about id'ing correctly.
It wasnt a shot, was proving my point.

  • Dude, i have about 20 shots of that engine Max. I think i know what engine we are talking about.

Nanaimo- The 6606 doesnt exist anymore, it was the 7606. That is retired somewhere, but not Woodcrest. The 6602 was scrapped i BELIEVE. Not sure though.

Yeah, this conversation aint very interesting. It seems to me that instead of including everyone a few people who knowm each other are using it as a virtual chatroom

Could you please try to include everyone in the chats?

  • I got back an hour ago from Folkston saw alot of stuff like CSX 6412 which is and ex Trona SD40-2 in Trona paint. CSX 4685 and 4699 Spirt of Mulberry and Miami on different trains. Alot of monified YN1. 2 UP SD9043AC's on a week old N116. CSX 4677 a SD70 in Electro-motive colors!, CSX 6899 1 of 3 CSX GP60! in LLPX colors!, some BRAND SPANKIN' NEW ES44DC's which you can see your self, and to end off the trip WO35 with CSX SD60 8741.

Rick- Yean that was a good one 2 SD45's (even though CSX 8889 is no longer a SD45) I remember that day I thought CSX 7512 was coming and once it appeared I was hoping it wasn't a leaser which it wasn't. Too bad CN retired it.

  • YOU SAW TWO SPIRITS IN THE SAME DAY!!!??? What the heck....And you saw ex - EMDX SD70Ms which are glued to the south so I've never saw one. 1 of 3 GP60s, and alas, which one did you see, the LLPX! And CSX 8889 (i've already seen!)

    You are LUCKY!!!!!

  • Sorry about not including everyone, but myself and Mr.Holmes are having a little arguement.
OK Alec, so the fact is, weve both seen, but WHY would the identify it as IMRL? It wouldnt be too hard to add an I, would it? lol Cheapo's.

Well if you are having a personal discussion then why dont you
    A) Keep it in Email
    B) Download MSN Messenger and chat using that
    C) Pick up the phone and ring them.
All of these options keep the discussion here interesting to both me and richard.
Yeah, but this place just dont feel the same without chris, maybe we should email him and ask him to rejoin, even if he only posts here every week or so

  • I have no idea max. Alexander, if it wasnt for us talking about this (which i dont want to do anyway) NO ONE would even post here.

Rich- Matt is still around but doesnt check in daily anymore it seems. Well, now that we are off of that subject.

  • Rick- 4685 and 4699 came on different days Sunday and Monday. 4675 and 4677 which are painted in Electro-Motive paint are down south including all of the GP60's sadly I didn't get a picture due to the darkness and the not knowing the GP60 was on the train. CSX 8889 I did not see.

But on a relative note when I was in Waycross looking at some coaches sitting outside the diesel rack (which you can't get into) I saw a CSX MOW Pumkin sitting by it's self its not the 9119 it still had its orginal CSX MOW number. Could CSX be releaseing a CSX MOW engine out of retirement???.

    kevin
  • Oskar - Who is to know? I know several of CSX's Pumpkin Units were the GP40s in the 9700 number range. And one was even dedicated to Trains Magazine or something like that although it was not a 9700.

It was still lucky catching those Spirits two days in a row. The closest I have gotten between Spirits was six days.

I have not seen Pumpkin 9119, but I have seen 9120, 9121 and 9122. I belive those are the only three CSX units left in the Chessie System paint scheme. Unless 4618 still is. I haven't checked up on it for a while.

By the way, do you know where the 4617 is right now? I saw it once in Kent, OH as I've already explained but would like to get a better shot of it. Thanx!

CSX no. 6 came by Geneva, OH on May 28, 2006. CSX 5383 (new ES44DC), TFM 1657 (SD70MAC - my first one) and a CSX rail hauler train (or whatever you want to call it) came by. The rail hauler had a CSXT Caboose. Locos were 2333 and 6428.

Oskar - what were the numbers on the new ES44DCs you saw?

Alec - That is what I thought. I hate to say it, but this place seems to be dying out a little bit (little by little).

    Rich

    ................

[EDIT] - Oskar- also scratch out May 29 as being my first day of a sighting of a NS ES40DC. It was actually May 14, 2005 and was the 7500 itself!
