    Minnesota = East to me! And I suppose that I also mean south, after all, it's the American part, and it's always been called the SOO...
    I got a lot of older pictures scanned in, and then got all three rejected from railpictures. One was for bad colour saturation. That's the colour the engine is! Faded! The second was bad cropping, which I'm not gonna disagree with, and the third was for dirty scan. So I cleaned it up and rescanned it. #163 in the queue..

  • well saw some trains the highlights was UP SD70ACe 8381, C45ACCTE/ES44DC 5399, NS 9962 (no paint (yesterday)), my second SD70M-2 2681, and best of all the NS masters train has been sitting in its normal spot (since atleast thursday) they have coaches marked as NW,SOU, and CR and the wierdest the have UP Omaha coach. CSX comes Monday with the F40's.

  • Went spur of the moment railfanning today. Saw James's father running two CN SD70I's. Then we saw 3 UP SD40-2's rolling pretty good. The we saw the power that had been sitting in the siding, WC/CN grey repaint SD40-2 and former WC, now MRL SD45, do some switching, and talked to the conductor for around 15 min. He came up to us, and goes "HEY!! DO YOU HAVE CERTIFICATION TO BE ON FEDERAL PROPERTY!!???" James gets scared. Then the conductor (Larry) goes "HAHAHA, Just messing with you guys! APRIL FOOLS!! Shoulda seen the look on your eyes!" He knows James dad so we talked for a long time. Saw a father take his kids railfanning.
    Back to trains. We then saw CN SD50F leading a BNSF C44-9W and another CN unit. Then my favorite!! The CN's Minorca ore train!! One CN unit, and two DMIR SD45T-2's FLOORED !!!!! (SD40-3 to Missabe fans like myself)

    EDIT: There was a hobo in the cars that Larry was switching out! We also saw a SOO LINE BANDIT!!!

  • Ya!!! Max you forgot to mention the part were we get stuck in the mud!!! Before the Minorca/ ore train goes by I find out that I had gotten the car stuck in the mud. What a fun time that was trying to get that thing out. The Minorca was really great though I didn't pay the biggest amount of attention to it since we were trying to get the car unstuck. Great train. Those units were in run 8, scooten to get out of there. It was only a 30 car train. But I had a fun time otherwise.
    It was great to see my dad running those "SD75Is" Max not SD701.

  • Hmm, not a grey SD40-2, SD40-3. Max get with the program!

    Well, i went over to my friends grandpa's houes and got some weathering done on two SOO SD40-2's. Then, i did a Cotten Belt SD40T-2! It looks like it hasnt been washed in months. I'll post shots of the SSW later. No fanning as we have 2 CN units (rott in hell) plus its raining.

    My guess is that Cp uses SOO operation/ reporting marks within the us or just keep it on the old soo equipment......

  • CP doesn't just keep it on the old SOO equiptment or in the US, all newer grain cars have it.. And autoracks too, I think. It does prevail on most cars, but only reporting mark wise. It isn't on containers or trucks, those usually use the CPPU marks.
    So I'm just sitting here doing my retarded social homeowrk..figured I might as well have fun with it, so I used the burning peasant form Trogdor as a visual..
    Today I backdated my MRR to 1959 to free up some space in the enginehouse and stop my C-424s from hogging all the trains, so now they're up here beside me. God, they look so fabulous..they look better every day!

    I have a P2K SD45 too! It's also here in front of me. Man, can they HAUL! My version is CP 5490 with a nose headlight. Amazing. best hauler I have. Can outpull a trio of FA-1s!
    Andways..back to homework..

    ALEC The DMIR SD40-3 is accually a sd45T-2 that was rebuilt by eather DMIR shop forces or Mk. I belive they have upgraded electronics.......but what do I know........max is more with the program than I am with the DMIR..........

So in essance the SDm is some what like a SD38 in a SD18 or SD9 schell.

  • Well, I could be mistaken, but I'm sure that the CN gray SD40s are SD40-3s..I know many are, but I'm not sure about the units letterd for WC.

    Max said that a grey WC unit is a SD40-2. Which it is not, it is an SD40-3 rebuilt from a CN SD40. And I HOPE that most here knew what a SDm is. But anywho, back to homework. Seeya,
