  • raftrainup--Welcome! I do hope that you enjoy it here! And do stick around....as alot of conversation not just regarding trains goes on here. (The next biggest topic is school...)

Alec--Thanks! It isn't exactly common to see an H1 SD40-2 out here anyways. The locomotive in front of it was a BNSF C44-9W in H2 as stated in the caption below the photo.

Oskar--What special CSX units have you seen? I've seen 1, the "Spirit of West Virginia", 500, the "Spirit of Grafton", 602, the "Spirit of Maryland", 5000 and 5001 the "Diversity in Motion" units and 8206, the so called "Spirit of Bush."

Still waiting on their F40PHs and their SD80MACs. I'm supposing their new F40s are going to be painted in YN3... But who gives, I like that scheme!

BTW, when are the AC6000CWs going to start being repainted to YN3...[:D]? It would be interesting to see those CW60ACs in that scheme...!!

So, going to Berea this Saturday...Can't wait! And on Monday, my Art Teacher is going!!! Because her son loves trains and I told her about it. This is a first. But it will also suck a lil', don't know why, I just feel it will......

    Talk to ya'll later....

  • Railfanning with a teacher!? Wowsa! Good luck with that! Ohh, and I was just looking at your latest round of pics, Richard- Very nice!
  • Hey guys,

I haven't been on lately, it's been crunch time on the module. We had a snow day today, which saved my butt is getting things done in time for the show, I basically worked all day on the module except for meals and shoveling snow. But, I've got the module to a presentable point at least, so I'm happy. Pictures will follow on Monday.

Chris, When you know for sure what your plans are for the weekend one way or the other drop me an e-mail. I probably won't check my mail after very early Saturday morning though, so after that I might not see it.

I'm going to head out of this place, I'm getting sleepy and I've got to finnish some touch up work on the module (I got the day off again by a planned teacher inservice, which is convienent). I'll probably stop in tomorrow night quick, but after that I probably won't be on till Monday.

    Noah.........Out
  • Noah- I will not know the outcome of my weekend until this saturaday night. If my dad can go, he and I will be meeting a freind of my dads out there in Madison, but I will not know if I am going until the minute I would be leaving, which would be around 4:30 in the evening...so, if I am out there....what is the name of your group? What does your layout look like, and what do YOU look like, so of I do make it out I will find you....sorry but this is how it wound up working out due to my dads schedule.

what i mean is when i came back at 4:25 noone was here? not at one in the morning.

tmcc man: i see your talking to a girl you like. good. i can't understand girls. like this girl who i kinda like, she likes me one minute, then is all funny the next. and ain't it funny that the girls you like always don't like you back?

on sunday i am going to wet'n wild water world. as the name sugessts it is a theme park with water based rides. not related to trains, but ohwell.

progess with my layout has been limited, and i can't see that changing soon. don't have the$$ needed.

enough from me, i gotta go.
  • Chris, We are the "Southern Wisconsin Sandhouse Crew." We'll be really the only bigger layout in the new upstairs section of the show, although there will be a few smaller displays I think. And ours will be the one where almost all the modules are only partially finnished ;-). I take it you would be at the show on Sunday then if at all. Sunday the best time to catch me would be between 10-3 sometime, as that's when I'll be around the layout.

Unfortunately I don't have my mug shot up anywhere on the internet. But, the simplest way to find me would be, when you get to the layout, ask one of the guys standing around it in Orange shirts(not one of the guys that is part of the NMRA though and working the show, but instead someone in the module group, probably inside the layout or inside the rope baracade around it) where Noah is. They can direct you over to me, and from there you can introduce yourself.

I can understand about crazy schedules, I've had a few weerkends like thay myself lately. If we happen to meet up that would be good, but if not that's alright. There is always next year.

Well, I'm going to get off for today, I've got to start gather stuff up to take to the show. I've got off school today, which is really convinent because set up for the show is today.....

    Noah......Out
  • Rick- I have seen 295 Spirt of Clincfield, 356 Spirt of Bunswick, 391 Spirt of Dante, 454 Spirt of Mongolia, 700 Spirt of Cumberland, 789 Spirt of Nashville, 5107 Spirt of W. Thomas Rice. I am not sure of these 3 4685 Spirt of Mulberry, 4688 Spirt of Tampa, 4699 Spirt of Miami. I have not seen the SD40-2 spirts I know there is 8077 and the 8206.

The new F40's will be painted in the YN3 if you have seen pics of the special trains with the coaches like the ''Kentucky Durby Train'' or ''The Masters Train'' they have YN3 locos on them.

I do not know when they are going to paint the CW60AC's but it would be wierd.

note I have seen the 699 Diversity in Motion

  • Lol, ok Max, here she is. I may go grab one of them SD40-3's, i dont know, athearn is making another SD38-2, so im in a bundle. But on my plate now , is a load. I need to buy, alteast another SOO SD60, and another WC GP38-2, both Athearn RTR. Then i may find some room for the DMIR. But it all depends on the deals i get. I go to the train show everyear at the state fair grounds, and get some good stuff. Last year i got a CNW SD60 for 50 BUCKS! Brand new!

But on the topic of real trains, i saw the WC 7530 ( finally a WC SD45 back again ) and a BNSF SD40-2, # 8006.

  • Hey everyone.
We had a lot of gusts here last night nad into this morning. The power went out quite a few times and a lot of the work the teachers planned for us did not get completed, so Tuesday will be a day with a lot of work.

Alexander13, I do not really have to worry about that. Many of the girls that I liked liked me back and we had great relationships, and most of them are still really good friends of mine. I am the kind of person that would like to be friends after we break up. Now, I do not know about Brianna right now, but I might start chasing her. I hope I can get her, before someone else gets lucky and gets her before I do.

  • Also Alexander13, I guess I approach them in a manner that they like? Do not know. I know tooooo many of my friends come on too strong when they first meet a girl they like.

  • okay, I am getting really lazy with my posting lately..It's really cold here, the temp with wind chill is -45c. Just the way I like it. So naturally I've gone railfanning twice. Saw no trains today, but 4 yesterday. A set of 3 light GP38-2s following a set of 3 GP38-2s with some grain loads, then an eastbound grain. Also a DPU on a blue flagged train, which I do count as a train because I think I got a good shot. This morning, I went with a friend, and found an ES44AC idling on a south track of the yard, I think that shot will turn out good with the snow! No actual running trains, I saw a Hi-Railer that I think was working on the signals.

Yes, girls are weird. No doubt about that. I've been hit over the head with a few binders for saying that! but she's still my friend, and I do fear that I am developing a strong liking for her. Of course, as always, there's the problem of the boyfriend. Anyone know a good contract kidnapper? :-P

So I've almost finished another roll of film, I think my parents are going to kill me..
