    Happy Page Fifty!!!

James, my camera has a through-the-lens system, but my model railway pictures are over a second, and the autotimer and light meter don't work then. I usually take a 3 second pic with the lens at f22.
Kevin, get any pics of that SD60M? Haven't seen one fo those before..of course, I have seen them in pictures, but what the heck, eh?

Okay, this was rejected by railpictures a while ago, and your job is to guess why! http://photobucket.com/albums/b274/trainboysd40/?action=view¤t=ac4400stephen2002.jpg

I would guess poor image quailty, or perhaps bad cropping.
Good news I have begun scanning in my slide collection. The slide scanner I'm using is kind of crappy (Super Coolscan 4000) so I'll have to go to PS2 to sharpen them up a little bit (nothing else), for RP.net. However, I started an rrpicturearchives page and put them on there, among other things.

I've been on 1 day and got my first Editor's pick, yeah me!
  • Ah yes, as I suspected noone got why they rejecyed it. "Bad lighting: (Sun too high)"
I just went railfanning for a short time, saw 4 trains in an hour and a half including one with 5 engines! 4 on the head and 1 one the rear, all AC4400s! I might have stayed longer but at this time of year, there is really only one stretch of trakc within 6 miles of me that you can get shots with the nose lit up, and an employee told me to leave there. I hope my telephoto shots turn out well..

Go here for my rail shots! http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?userid=9296

  • Trainboy my guess is that the picture is to big and there is to much open space around the picture. The guys on that site state that the picture can only be an 800 by 800. Also it looks to me that there is too much area around the train. but I wouldn't have guessed the bad lighting.

  • *** fifty pages already!
  • Anyone want to see pix of the model cars I have? I took a few, and will take more soon. On the weather forecast, it is snowing here, but will soon be coming down even harder, and it is coming down pretty hard right now. It is also sticking, so tomorrow will be pretty slippery, and will be back breaking because of shoveling.

Just finished putting the decals on my milwaukee road SD10 and it looks great.
I'm planning of buying 2 Milwaukee road GP38-2s from proto 2K. I've heard they have gotten much better with there locomotives. I've also noticed at the club I go to they really like proto 2K. The last Walthers box sent to the club was nothing but DCC & sound RS27s from proto. They sound really nice and for the prices there getting are great. 300 dollars for 2 RS27.
    What do you guys think.

  • Colin! Them's are some sweet rides! That GT90 looks great! And the angle from which you shot it at makes it look menacing! Very nice!

  • Morning.
Predicted snowfall was 6 inches, but we got 12 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We opened the front door, and a huge pile of snow came into the foyer, but we got it out, so no worries about that.

Chris, I cannot stand any Ford's, and the reason I have the GT90 is because it was a gift, not my choice. Did you see the new Challenger for 07? That is a great looking car, and man I would love to have that. You like the angles of the shots. Well, I got as close as I wanted to get to the cars, put the camera on the ground and took them. The last 3 had no flash on them, and I will have to take a few more of my Chevy SSR, and my Mercedes 300S from 1963 I believe. Do not know exactly what model it is, but you should see it soon.
