It's been quiet here along the NS main Chattanooga to Cincinnati. It gets a little quiet on the weekends, but right now I'm hearing about the 3rd train in 24 hours!

well... i cant speak for that region or even that railroad...but on the holidays..it dose tend to slow down..not becouse the railroads arnt running trains..but crew avaliblity might not be thier... or if its a big one.. they might scale back or not run at all on that day.. but most of the time..its just another day to the railroad....if they can get bodies to put on the trains that is..

In this neck of the woods things definately slow down. Trains are still running but only the more important ones. Many locals do not run because many of the business they serve are closed. It takes a day or two after a holiday to get back to normal.

They seem to be speeding up around here.
I like NS but CSX has the B&O.
