What would be your favorite engin of all time

Well here is a wide open subject if you could name just one engine as your favorite what would it be???

The F40 and its descendants. It's a far cry from the E-units of yesteryear, but my first memories of passenger trains were big original Superliners pulled by two or three of them. Not only were they on Amtrak, but also my more common passenger trips on Metra. They're colorful locomotives used all over the nation that have done a lot for the railroad passenger industry than some care to ackgnowledge. I hate to see the baggage units on the Hiawatha trains nowadays...

What in the world in an "engin"? My favorite engine would have to be the Challenger.

To the original question: My favorite is the GM&N 425, a Pacific locomotive, currently owned by the Blue Mountain and Reading (or Reading, Blue Mountain, and Northern). It was the first steam locomotive that I got "up close and personal" with back in 1967 when it was in Phoenixville, PA.
