Amtrak P42's showing some age?

Is it just me or are the P42's starting to smoke a lot more when they are accelerating? Up until like a month ago, i hadnt ever seen one do it. Now it seems like everytime i see a picture of one on railpictures.net, its smoking.

Man I deadheaded on amtrak tonight they beat those motors up and the trains....idle to run 8 instantly, 8 to idle instantly. set massive amounts of air at once then kick it off...well when they do set air if they set to much they can kick it off pound by pound and when they release their brakes it doesnt go into the atmosphere..into some kinda reservoir

Yes, they do smoke a lot, and i have yet to see one without several dents in its nose
