Stupid me!!! I forgot to add to add the ALL AMERICAN REJECTS. I love the song Dirty Little Secret. AMFLEET, what songs do you like from them? I like most of them on their newer CD, as a matter of fact i am listenng to them right now.

Classic country & bluegrass. Favorite artists are Cash, Jennings, George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams. In my opinion, Willie Nelson and Hank Jr are very overated and cannot sing a tune.

Mainly guitar music, from rock to jazz and blues. Many favorite artists like Chieli Minucci, Earl Klugh, Doc Powell, Eric Clapton, the great Chet Atkins. Love all my old Fleetwood Mac too.

Most classical (although the older I get the less patience I have to sit thru an entire symphony), some Country (esp. Patsy Cline and the crossover pop of the seventies (Dolly Parton, Eddie Rabbit)), a little bit of bluegrass if it's really good; a great deal of Jazz (I get lost in the early Seventies and can't understand anything post "***es' Brew," a great deal of Pop, especially oldies or remakes of hits from the Sixties and Seventies, ditto Motown/R&B from the Sixties and Seventies; and anything novelty or "patter" like "Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me)." I enjoy listening to the "we play whatever we want to play" station; and sometimes "Alternative" seems anything but for me (cover of "Ma-na-ma-na"). I tolerate some rap or hip-hop but usually mentally file the kind I like under "action poetry" rather than "music." And I must admit I like a lot of show tunes, such as the songs from "Guys and Dolls" and "*** Yankees." The Beatles are still my favorite pop/rock group.
I'm beginning to understand why the record club has over a dozen different categories!

I also like Train, but then they're kinda neo-Beatles.

I like rock & roll (The Beatles), country rock (The Eagles), disco (KC and the Sunshine Band) folk music (The Byrds & Jim Croce) to name a few.
Regards Gary

I used to sing in a classical choir, my younger son plays Bari Sax in a Blues band (Reno Jones at www.renojones.com ), my older son is a metalhead, and my wife likes eveything from Guns and Roses to Manilow to Mozart. Oh, and my younger son's wife has a Master's in Vocal Performance specializing in Rennaisance and the Early Baroque. She sings with the Pacific Chorale.
With that family I like the best parts of all music genres. Theodore Sturgeon once said that 90% of everything is crap. I like the 10% of everything that is left. For singing purposes I have a particular fondness for the Baroque.
On road trips I have alternated Bach with John Lee Hooker.
