Amtrak Special??

I saw a WB Amtrak through Newton KS at about 4:30 PM when it is usually scheduled to come through at 3 in the morning. This Amtrak didnt have superliners though and had two short-dome cars and an observation car. I was a little over a mile away or else I might've figured it out. It reminded me of the Orient Express possibly all thought I've never seen it in person and I didnt think it came this far east. Thanks for any answers.

This may have been an Amtrak business train. The consist sounds much like the one they ran over the KCS a couple of years ago in connection with the possible addition of the "Crescent Star" from Meridian, MS to Dallas. In addition to evaluating the suitability of the proposed route, I believe they met with civic leaders along the line to assess their support for a new passenger service.
