Help with Bachmann Tracks

  • I'm new to model railroading. I'm 10. I have a bachmann gp8 diesel loco.
It always stops on the electrical rerailer. I think that 's what they call them.
If I push it it will go, and sometimes it will struggle on its own and make it through.
    This is without pulling cars.
    Any ideas?[?]
    Thanks.

  • If it is a rerailer, the section that puts cars back on the track, you may want to look at the fuel tank under the engine. Occassionally they become loose and drop down a bit. Not a problem until sometihng is in the middle of the track then it hangs up. It may also be the plow is too low if it has one.
  • Welcome to modeling. Unfortunately you have discovered a problem with those locos. The bottom cover on the trucks hangs down too far and will snag on things. It is not loose, it was made that way. If you can find a hobby shop or an adult model railroader, they can help you fix it. It is not hard to fix, but at 10 I think you need some help so as not to damage the loco
  • Thanks so much! both of you.
