IF YOU COULD BRING BACK ANY FALLEN FLAG...

I've been learning a little about the history of the Western Pacific lately. It had a run of nearly 80 years before being swallowed by the UP. Among its achievments was the very popular California Zephyr which featured the Budd Company vista dome cars. I think I traveled on this train as a kid - we made one cross country trip by train and I remember the domes.

Would love to see the Southern Pacific again; I grew up watching their locomotives on the Northwestern Pacific in Nor. Cal; lots and lots of SD-9's! 8-10 of these on the point of 100+ cars southbound through Loleta, CA was pretty impressive as a kid. The tracks through town were about 10' from the curb on Main St., so you really got up close and personal.
Would also be nice to see the C&NW, D&RG, WP, BN, and ATSF.
Bill
