  • Do you have access to a scanner? I take all film too, and I like to scan in all my pics. And end the good ones to railpictures for automatic rejection. *sigh*

  • Hey Matt, did you resubmit the ones with the faulty info after you corrected them? It wouldn't hurt to try. I don't know what their policy is as far as resubmitting, but the worst that could happen is that they would reject it again.

  • Matthew, I don't think railpictures likes going away shots. BTW, I always wondered where that place was, EMD had a photo as an ad in TRAINS here earlier this year from this spot. If I ever make it to that area of canada, I definately have to stop there.

Well guys, I'm going to get going. I want to work on the module tonight a little as long as I don't have much homework.

I will resend it as soon as I get home, around 7.....
Noah, search "Morant's curve" on railpicures, and you will see a couple going away shots at the exact same place.
This is on the #1A highway just east of Lake Louise, about 150Km west of Calgary, where I am. It's definitely worth a long trip to see these mountains. The most telephoto in theose pics is a 49mm, so the mountains are quite close and big.

  • Spent the first half of the morning in Rochelle today...it was a bit quiet though. I ONLY saw twelve trains in three hours. It was kinda cool though. Right around 8:30 this morning, I watched a UP eastbound train from Global 3 pull up to the signal on the west side of the diamond. I heard a horn off in the distance, and turned around. To my surprise a SD70M with a westbound mixed freight had snuck up without notice right behind me, and was stopped at the east side of the diamond. I kept hearing two different horns, so there was either going to be a double cornfield meet, or the BNSF line was getting busy. Two minutes later, a CEFX SD40-2( I think, it was a blue lease unit ) and a NS SD40-2 rush up the northbound track on the BNSF, and just as the last car of the northbound BNSF clear the crossing, the southbound piggyback train with a still-BN SD40-2 cross the diamond. A 4-way meet, not too bad of a way to enjoy a McDonald's breakfast!

I got into their "high standard of excellence!" I still get to be grouchy about some rejects, though.

  • I was looking through the new photos over at Railpics, and I saw your Matt!! It prompted me to come back over here. It really is a nice shot. I did click on Morant's Curve from your photos, there are some really nice shots there. I definately want to get to that spot sometime if we head to that part of Canada.
