TEEN RAILFAN PLACE- LETS TALK TRAINS !

  • I have photo shop, and for, wait lets see, I have 8 total photos on railpictures, 5 have been photo editored... three were brightened, and 2 were cropped... note, some were brightened and cropped, so I have 3 untouched photos. I do not mind using photo editor, as I am not the best photographer, so what ever I mess up I can usually fix!
  • How do you appeal them?

  • You should get a link to click on when they send you the denial email. It's near the end of the message. I think it's a newer thing, though.
Noah, saw the shot of the WSOR employee excursion on rrpicturearchives. Nice shot! When did they buy the bilevel equipment? I rode on a WSOR excursion in Monroe, WI a few years ago, but all that equipment was single-level. Are they ex-C&NW equipment?

  • Photogeek, the WSOR Bi-level equipment(which is ex CNW and Ex Metra) was bought earlier this year, and three of them were refurbished by the WSOR's Horicon, WI shops. Two of them are plain coach cars, and one is a cab car/coach. Up until this time, all WSOR passenger equipment was single leveled. they sold all but three peices of the passenger equipment in 2001, bought it back in 2004, and now sold a good bit of it off again, although this time they kept the E units. I've gotten to know the guy who ran the WSOR Passenger Department up until 2001(actually we go railfanning together), and so he's told me all about the passenger stuff. And trust me, it's a long, long twisted story.......

Well guys, I had a great day. I'm comming home from school, along the tracks, and I ran into the WSOR's supertruck!!! It was the same one that I saw a few weeks ago, and he was unloading ties in about the same spot. It was really cool to see again, and I got to stay and see what he was doing a little more. I just missed him riding down the track, he was just getting off of it when I got there.

I'm going to get going, I've got things to do. It looks like I'll be going railfanning on Friday, so tomorrow I've got to do some chores and work on my Module a little. I'll see you all later.

AC6000, I can't believe that you have never seen a NS loco! Even I have, and I've only been within 400 miles of the line once, and that was the closest I got! (It was a pair of GEs on a CN train)

  • I'm Tim, I'm 16, and have been a train nut forever. My friends think I'm crazy but I don't care. I'm a model railroader and photographer, and my favorite RR's are CN, CSX, and VIA Rail.

I once, while standing a good distance back from the tracks, had a VIA P42 give me 32!!! blasts on the horn ( I counted all right).

And yes, I like many have fallen into those times when the perfect picture comes but your camera didn't.

I once got a GO train Baombardier coach on a CN freight 600 km from Toronto, but other than that I've missed all the best, like the one CSX unit I ever saw on the CN QC-Windsor corridor.

Oh well. I don't know what it is about GEs that people don't seem to like, but I like them far better than most EMDs

    Maybe I'm just wierd.

To be honest, this forum is great for me, because I know basically one person who I can talk to about trains who cares and understands what I mean!

  • Tim, Welcome!! I know the feeling about people thinking your crazy for likeing trains. Back in Middle school everyone had come to respect my love for trains, and just shrug off the babble about locomotive number and move on. But now in High School, I tell people I have a website with train pictures on it, and they look at me like I'm some sort of a nut. But, I don't care, I enjoy it, and I couldn't give less about what they think.

Well, I'm enjoying my day off; I've been working on the module a little, roughing in the basic landforms. Heck, why don't I show you a few photos of my progress:

Thankfully my mom is tolerable of the mess created by the foam on our Living room floor (as long as I clean it up when I’m done), or I may not be here right now.....

Anyway, as you can see, I've got all of the basic landforms roughed in. Where the big whole is will be the turntable, and the large piece of yellow foam to the left of the picture is where I will have a scratch built yard office and storage shed. I also have to scratch build a three stall roundhouse, as the very front track of the four to the right will be open air. I’m going to be spreading Ground Goop like Lou Sassi uses over most of the module, other than the track of course. I’ve got to look into getting the stuff to make that ground goop this weekend.

Anyway, figured I’d let you guys know that I more than likely won’t be on tomorrow. Weather looks good, and so I am going to go with a friend railfanning. I’ll have pictures to share on Saturday though.

I better get going. There are leaves to rake outside, and I want to do a little more work on the module yet today (that one hill needs a little more carving).
