Indulging in my other great passion besides trains; music, I was listening to Charles Mingus' "Ah-Um" album and one of the bonus tracks is called "GG Train"....all the liner notes say is that it's not the NY subway A-train, but GG train? why of course, that's the Pennsy GG electric trains... or is it? Can anyone shed more light on this song? Do the GG electrics have a song named after them?

Sorry to disappoint you but there is a NYCTA subway line, the Brooklyn-Queens Crosstown line, which was designated the GG line in the past. It is currently known as the G train. For more info, check out this website:

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
