Photo 2 would likely take top honors in an art contest , but photo 1 is more what I enjoy when viewing a shot of railroads at work.

I like 2 with the meeting trains and the signal aspects showing. The more details of railroading other than just the trains is worth it. I like the low light and the setting sun reflecting off the westbound stacks

This was a really hard choice. Photo 2 was more artistic, but photo 1 is more of the type of photo you look for when looking at train pictures. But I voted for 2 to support art. But both are great shots.

I usually prefer shots closer to home, which would be Duplainville, but the vibrant colors, even under cloudy skies, of Photo 1 gets my vote.

The mood of photo 2 struck me as a moody, somewhat lonesome photo, captures that aspect of railroading.
Photo 1, although rainstruck, didnt convey the same feeling....

Boy, these last few contests have been real tough to decide. Photo 2 is quite unusual and definitely shows off the Cannon's ability to handle a low light situation. Photo 1 is more traditional but it shows off the locomotives and their consist in a very picturesque rainy scene with lush greenery framing the picture. Unusual versus pretty? It was a hard choice but I finally decided upon Photo 1 perhaps because of the greenery. Erik and Mike, I salute both your submittals!

Glad you guys went back to blind voting. I like photo number 1 best as that is the way I like to see trains photgraphed. [:)]

Photo one definately beats Photo two. It is really neat and is clearer than the other pic. What I mean by clear is that the sun isn't aiming directly on it. Photo 1 rules.[;)][8D]

I voted for photo 1 this week[:)]. I really like the CSX train curving through all that greenery.Also,it is a manifest train,my favorite kind of freight.Photo 2 was also good,with the signals in the background,and that second train,but IMHO,doublestack trains are boring.
