coal unit ?

recently i seen a unit coal train passing through goshen indiana. the thing that had stumped me was that there were i think two air lines going between them. i want to know what the second line going between them was for.

Some cars have air dump doors so they can be dumped on the fly. Second line is air for te door controls.

thanks that helps a lot. i was going crazy trying to ftgure out what is was for[:D]
