Foam Roadbed

  • I asked this before, but my message seems to have disappeared. How do you drill through foam road bed for electrical wireing?

  • Unless the railroads are experimenting with something new, I think this is a medel railroad question, and you should submit it on the Model Railroder forum.
(I just stick a needle through to make an opening and then pu***he wire in. Sometimes I use a straw or drill to make a bigger hole.)

  • Agreed. Ask on "Layouts and layout building". Go to forum jump, at the bottom of this page, and scroll down until you see it under Model Railroader.

I used a 1/4" general purpose (not for metal) bit in a hand-held drill or cordless driver. A smaller Phillips-head screwdriver works too, unless you have any plywood underneath. Good luck.
