U.P. 844 was in Denver Co. last week I suppose on test run, I see that it will pull the Frontier days train in July. Anyone know the status of the 3985? Shop time maybe?[?][?]

Anyone with a "heart" likes steam, and especially those who appreciate the development of this country and the steam engine itself.
All you have to do is get close to one of the fire breathing monsters to feel its heat and hear its heartbeat and you fall in love with them. I am not old enough to remember steam in its last stand but remember seeing the 3985 on a trip to Little Rock. I saw it come into town and a friend taped it on his camcorder. (Stupid me erased it sometime though [:(!] [:(] [:(!] ) But when I found out they were selling tickets for rides I bought one for a dome car. [:D] What a trip that was. [:p]
Oh, Yes, I like steam. [:D] [:o)] [:D]

I do and anyone who has ever experienced a steam locomotive running up close must. How could you not like steam!
Yes we call it the Dinky. Why? Well cause it's dinky! Proud to be the official train geek of Princeton University!

Off course we do, how could anyone not like a steam Locomotive.
They are great!!
The 3985 ran a break in short run about two months ago to check out some rod bearing work. I read that on trainorders about two months ago and I believe a picture was posted about the same time as the 844 was being fired up for the first testing. .

I figure 844 will get some of it's glory that is on about a 6 year backorder, I wouldn't look for 3985 too hard in the next couple years unless it's a doubleheader or the 844 must have some "warranty work" done.

The 3985 was in both Pine Bluff and Little Rock quite a few times in the last year or so.
