There is no such place as Proviso II. There is Proviso Yard though. Its just east of Elmhurst IL or 59.6 miles from the Rochelle diamonds. Within the Proviso Yard complex there is an intermodal yard called Global II. Global I is on the property of the former C&NW Potato Yard right outside of the loop. Global III is just around the corner beyond the view of the webcam. Also the UP former C&NW line does not go through Aurora.

Proviso Yard can be seen from the Tri State Tollway ( I-294) by the North Ave, Lake Street exit.

There is a Proviso Township that covers the area in which Proviso Yard is located. In Illinois, they exist primarily to provide road maintenance and a handful of other services in unincorporated areas and are otherwise virtually invisible.
Proviso Yard is a sprawling facility that runs from I-294 on the west to somewhere between Mannheim Rd and 25th Avenue on the east. Lake Street is just beyond its northern edge. The Mannheim Road overpass has high chain-link fences, making photography difficult. There are only a handful of other places from which photography would be possible.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
