I would be grateful if anyone could provide any info on these.
Specificly 6945 and 6946.
They were originally assigned new to PC's ex Pennsy 59th st. hump in Chicago, replacing a Trainmaster, SD7 or 9, and Geeps.
I would like to know where they roamed after 59th st. was closed.
I believe they kept the same road no's under Conrail and were conveyed to NS.
I got the thrill of a lifetime when a childhood friends dad took us with him for a whole yard shift aboard 6945 one summer night back in the late 60's.
Thanks,
Jimmy

I did a "google" search for you and found the following:
Penn Central 6945 is now Conrail 3811
Penn Central 6946 is now Norfolk & Southern 3812

Thank you very much for the info and reference! Ah , memory fades just a little.
They were built in 70, so it must have been that summer ot the summer of 71 that I rode the 6945/3811.
Jimmy
