i am doing a report in school and obviously its about trains. i heard that deisel was just starting in the 20's? any info or prefereably a picture of the first engine

20's? no... 30's yes.

Ingersol Rand made the first, industrial swicther, or the CB&Q Zepher could be what your looking for.

Red River Lumber Co. had a 600hp diesel, built by shop forces, dig that wooden cab. Does this fit your requirement?
