Now that the Union Pacific 844 is out of the steam shop , what is she doing now and what's next for the 4-8-4.

We are all waiting for the same answer. No schedule has been made avaliable as of this month on the UPRR.com or the UPHS.org.

Sorry, we just don't know, but I am hoping for a trip this summer, maybe the Denver Post???

Union Pacific Steam Locomotive 844 will arrive in Hutchinson, Kansas at 10:00 am on May 3, 2006 for 30 minutes to service the locomotive and pick up 2 passengers for the ride to Pratt, Kansas - Yours Truly will be one of the 2 passengers - I am thrilled to receive this invitation to ride this famous steam locomotive - I spend many of my days at the UP depot in Hutchinson taking photos of the trains - I can remember back to my childhood watching the steam locomotives filling up with coal and water at the Great Bend, Kansas train yard .
