Moffat Line

Does anyone know the number of trains that pass through the Moffat Tunnel daily? I know two Amtrak passenger trains pass as well as numerous coal trains and mixed merchandise, but I don't have a number and need it for a grant proposal.
Any help appreciated.

I am going out on a limb here and going to say two dozen. Too many more than that would overload the air ventilating system. Perhaps Mark Hemphill will respond with a more accurate figure. You could also ask your question on the D&RGW Yahoo Group.

Mark Hemphill, do you have the data I'm needing for my grant proposal - specifically, the number of trains daily through the Moffat Tunnel?
