  • I've been a life long lover of trains, and I love the mag. My Mom's whole side of the fam, worked as boilermakers, brakemen, and machinists for the C&O. I have decided to change from an idle admirer, to making this a hobby. I was wondering how one gets started in rail fanning, and perhaps the historical preservation of railroading? Thanks for all your help![[:)]

My grandpa and his brothers, worked in the C&O round house at the Chillicothe OH Depot. A beautiful place until they closed it and it was torn down. I spent many a day with my dad watching the trains, and hanging out there. I have a pic of him and the hole shop surrounding a loco, I'll try to get a copy and post it.
