Ride Amtrak to North Platte Area

Hello Group,

Has anyone taken Amtrak to the North Platte area? I noticed that the train gets in in the late night hours. Anyone have any suggestions about car rentals or something to get up to the North Platte area when the train drops off? Thanks for your help in advance. I am looking at going in September for the North Platte Railroad Days.

Um, methinks there is no Amtrak station at North Platte. Closest you could get is Omaha.

Methinks he is referring to McCook, which is a bit closer to North Platte than Omaha is. #5 is due out of McCook at 3:43 in the morning; #6 is due out at 11:49 at night. Avis has rental car service available there. McCook is about seventy miles south of North Platte.
