I grew up in Burlington, Iowa and both of my grandfathers, father, and a lot of my uncles worked for the railroad, mostly at the shops in West Burlington.
My younger brother found an old photo with both of grandfathers standing together in front of steam locomotive #3012 at the shops. I would like to obtain a HO model of that locomotive if possible.
The CB&Q achieves show that steam locomotives #s3000-3012 were 464 "Hudson" type, Class S-4 (locobase 181), 12 made by Baldwin and 1 at the shops (S-4A) with a Baldwin boiler.
Does anyone know of a HO model of this locomotive with CB&Q (Burlington Route) paint, logo, etc?
I suspect someone has offered this engine in brass at some point in the past. I don't think an accurate model has been produced outside of brass.
Sunset imported one some time ago. You can sometimes still find one around. Here's mine running at the Emlhurst Model RR Club http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccSsAx0Fulk&feature=related
