It has been a while since I was on this forum and just today I completed work and was in the area where no work was done on the SPRR but I explored the ever changing right of way and compared the surrounding area where the SPRR was to have been built but wasn't. As some of you may know that the SPRR never was a completed road, it however didn't stop me from discovering where it was to be built some 120 ears ago. In my next post I will endeavor to show you the railroad map of a site I explored some time ago and photographed the building landmarks on the railroad map, the aerial view showing the same site as well as what ground views are then, now as they have changed.14 years and still exploring!
Tracking the William Henry Vanderbilt South Pennsylvania Railroad right of way along the Historic Pennsylvania Turnpike.
I don't know how I missed this post of about 10 days or so ago....As you know, I have a keen interest in the subject you have explored throughout the past decade plus.
I just checked into the new format, and the site looks so different, I'm not too sure just what I'm doing. Hope I can warm up to it and ride along posting and reading as before.
Glad to see you back relating some more history of the {interesting}, subject to some of us. I'll be watching.
