The local train around Roseville CA is called the Rocklin Rocket. They now have a caboose on their local.

The friendly crew on the Rocket waves a greeting as they approach.
It's comforting to know there are still instances of "complete" trains.

There is a local here that uses a "caboose." Unfortunately, it is not SP. When I was in Benicia about 2-1/2 years ago, I saw a SP caboose there.

Is it a True "Caboose" or is it a "Shoving Platform" with all the doors permanently locked or welded shut?
Here in Portland, OR the UP uses an old SP bay window on the local working the Kenton line, but I do not know if it is a Caboose or a shoving platform, I am Hoping it is a Caboose, but suspect it is a shoving platform. I suppose that I should get a few pictures of it, before someday it is permanently retired.
For another bit of antique equipment, we live in Forest Grove and in nearby Banks, OR there is still a Wig Wag protecting a grade crossing, but I have never been there at the same time as a train to see it in action.

I've seen that caboose over by Parkrose, (Parkrose is just east of Portland) on the Kenton line, and I think it's a shoving platform, (unfortantly)
I believe they use it as a platform when they go east past Rocklin. It is not used a normal caboose was prior to the 1980's, but is nice to see now and then.
