I looked at pictures of the GS4 including the 4449 and did not find anything different with the grab iron that runs from one side under the headlight to the other side. They were built new with that and it looked the same until this time with the 4449.
The GS2 and GS3 with the single headlight had a single bar that was different and ran horizontal across the bottom of the smokebox. The war baby's were the GS6's (4460 to 4469) and had the regular handle bar like the GS4 since they built after the GS4 and 5's. It could be some of the early GS2's and GS3's were modified but I did not find any pictures of that change.
