information advice area

  • i am demolising a train depot in northeast kansas.in the small weigh house is a complete scale to weigh boxcars the outside part is in bad shape but the scale and measures are all in tack.it is about 8 feet long and looks to be in good shape.any one have advice on where to sell this fine piece of history.

  • Why don;t you think about donating it to a railroad museum? You could do history a favor,and maybe get a tax break at the same time!!
  • You can always sell it on Ebay if you don't want to donate it.
    Shipping might be a little steep though.

    Donating it would be the best thing to do, there are 100s of small railroad museums out there that would love to get their hands on this kind of thing, best part is many people get to see and experience it as apposed to sitting in a private collection somewhere.
