I am looking for imformation on a steam locomotive bell which I have on my farm. The bell was given to my dad back in the 1950s and was mounted on a pole in our back yard sometime in the early 50s. I remember helping put the bell up with my father and my uncle who had been a retired engineer on the B&O railroad. I am not sure which railroad the bell came from but I belive it was from either the B&O or the Penn railroad. My father was a newspaper Industrial Editor on the Youngstown Ohio Vindicator newspaper. He was also a railroad buff. I aquired the bell from him and have just mounted it on my farm/airport in North Central Fl. The bell has numbers molded into the frame of 120718 on one side and AX10872 on the other side of the frame. The unite which holds the clapper has a patined date of 1924 molded on the side. My dad had said that this bell came from one of the largest steam locomotive that the railroad had. Any imformation would be helpful.I am trying to figure out the history of this bell. Thanks Bellguy
