  • Wv Central
  • Personally I think the Durango and Silverton
  • 1. The Strasburg RR.
    2. The East Broad Top RR.
  • Wilmington and Western
    Strasburg
  • South Simcoe Railroad in Ontario

CP steam. What could be better?

Brought to you by the letters C.P.R. as well as D&H!

     K1a - all the way

  • Illinois Railway Museum. Can't beat the traffic level on the busiest days.
  • Strasburg = Gridlock. I like any tourist railroad in the middle of nowhere
  • I would have voted for the Royal Hudson Steam Excursion, but it hasn't run for a couple of years now......

Hopefully one of thses days someone will be able to get it up and running again. [:(]
  • I like the Durango & Silverton. I last rode this train when it was still D&RGW. The scenery on this line is awesome! I rode this line three times, in 1967,76, and 79.[:D]
Ride Amtrak. Cats Rule, Dogs Drool.
  • Cumbres & Toltec - from Chama to Antonito back by motor coach. Full day - 64 miles behind single - double and sometimes triple steam. After 6 hours of riding between coach & open gondola... coal smoke and cinders... you leave with a solid experience of steam and will probably agree that some of that line goes through a piece of heaven with pristine alpine meadows and scenery that will not stop. Go early and poke around the yard, walk gingerly through the engine shop and storage tracks - folks at C&T are real accommodating.

Durango & Silverton is a sophisticated tourist line - great scenery, but keep your "assigned" seat warm.

C&T may not be easy to get to... but not all good things are in the urban jungle.[:)]

  • I voted for the Grand Canyon Railway, We took a trip on this about 2 years ago & had a great time. It was worth every penny spent & then some. There was so much entertainment on this trip. Before we boarded we were treated to a wildwest show & on the train we had alot of different live entertainment , on the return trip the train got robbed by outlaws on horse back. The day went by too fast. www.thetrain.com
  • The Silverton when it was still DRG&W.
All the Grand Canyon showed me was a wonderfull site for a great landfill.
