Scanner frequencies

  • I am a lifelong railfan who recently stumbled onto Trains at my local newstand, and am finally getting some toys.Smile [:)]

My question involves sacanner frequencies.  I live in the Memphis, TN area, and we are served by several lines, and I understand that there is a set of AAR frequencies in the 150-160 band.  My question deals with how I can locate the other frequencies, mainly used bythe separate lines, <including Amtrak, since the City of New Orleans comes through.>

I read some of the coments on scaners, and have looked as many of the others suggested at Radio Shack, and have almost decided on one.  Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Welcome, there is a railroad radio forum at www.railroad.net/forums/   near the bottom of that page. I think it has link to various railroad frequencies and they also discuss scanners.
