What is your favorite modern paint scheme?

  • Please don't complain about the fact that your favorite railroad is not here, I did all fifteen. I hope you think the poll is cool[8D][8D][8D]!

  • I voted BNSF, but more specifically I like the Heritage II scheme. It's closer to the old Santa Fe. It's the one with that big BIG logo on the front and uses more yellow stripes. I like the way it blends with the fall colors and stands out in against the snow. I don't know, I think over all it's alright.

  • I think BNSF has the best modern paint scheme.

  • you didnt list the best one.... BN cream and green..now that is a sharp looking locomotive....

I agree, it is a sharp looking scheme, if it's the one I'm thinking of -- cream as in tan type color? I believe there was also a white and blue with red penstripes. Those were SD locos weren't they? Better than all green, which wasn't bad either. I was going through some pictures in some books and others high on list of personal favorites would be the Altantic Coast Line's purple, and Chessie System's yellow and orange. Of course, the passenger trains were always more colorful.

I said MODERN paint schemes, that means as of current, not 8 years ago. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused.

P.S. csxengineer98, I thought you would be talking about CSX, not BNSF.
  • I thought it was bright future CSX. Well i think its cool just not the ghost scheme. And whats up with all black norfolk southern. Hope the white roofs help with no AC. Not a big NS fan here. Joe
  • WELL DOUGAL, APOLOGY ACCEPTED!!!... ARE WE STILL DOING THAT(NOT AGAIN!) "PEN PALS" THING?!?!... U.P.R. 123456789
  • Oh, yes, we are.[:)]
  • Give me the classic Wisconsin Central maroon and gold any time.

  • I hate to say it but I agree with CSX Engineer. Was very disappointed when the Excutive scheme didn't make cut for BNSF. Noticed that Kato sold out almost overnight and they bring the highest bids on ebay. IMHO
  • NS' new logo is the best looking one to me. BN's cream and green is hideous, csx engineer.

  • CP Rail Golden Beaver all the way!
  • Yes, go BNSF!!! I fell in love with these the first time I saw one, both the early and later versions.
