Favorite EMD Locomotive

My personal Favorite is the SD70MAC and the SD40-2

I voted for the E9 and that is true, but another favorite of mine is the F45 and FP45...actually all of the old EMD models are my favorites. JIm

I voted for the F7, since they were all over the place (at least in Pittsburgh) when I was growing up. They ran on the PATrain, the old B&O, B&LE, WM and a few other local lines. Amtrak used to run E units on a few of their intercity runs. One thing I remember, is just how *loud* they were!

I voted for the F7, my personal favorite. I like all the older F's and E's units, both A's and B's. I really enjoy seeing photo's of A-B-B-A lineups.

I voted for the SD-40-2. I have fond memories of watching Conrail SD-40-2s muscle trains up and over the mountains while railfanning the Altoona/Cresson PA area.

My favorite domestic design is any 645-powered switcher with the tall cab (SW1000, SW1500, MP15, MP15AC, MP15T).
My favorite export design would be the AT26C in Australia. It looks like an F45 with a bulldog nose.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

My favorite FP-9A as used by CP in original maroon & Gray and CN in Green & Black scheme.

I voted for the SD40-2 because it was the first locomotive I saw with 6 axles and I too have fond memories of them on Conrail but in Pittsburgh.

I almost voted for the GP40-2 which I saw a lot of too. I like them as much as SD40-2s and Conrail had almost an equal number of both.
