I made the propane tank from 1/2 inch PVC fittings I picked up at Home Depot and used 1/2 inch PVC pipe with primer and cement to provide rigidity to the assembly, then painted it gloss white. Decals are on clear Bel paper printed on my Canon Pixma 922 inkjet. The gondola is an old E&B Shops kit I had- just IM metal wheels and Kadee couplers were added. I used basic math to figure the cubic capacity of this particular tank, based on its real world measurements using a Mascot HO ruler. The tank is supported by 4 balsa blocks cut to cradle the tank curve.
