CNJ No. 302

I kitbashed this engine using a Mantua 2-8-0 as the starting point. I stripped the boiler of all its cast-on details and added Lee Town castings. The tender is a USRA tender from an NWSL USRA 0-6-0. I reworked the Mantua frame with different axle spacing and added brass 55" diameter drivers. The model was awarded first prize in Model Railroader magazine's "Locomotive Kitbashing Contest 2009" and its construction was detailed in the March 2010 issue of the magazine.
