It's a hot August day and a freight extra passes the small depot in St. Williams, Ontario as it works its way east behind a venerable CNR 2-6-0.
Trevor Marshall photographed this scene on his S scale layout. He worked from photos to scratch-build the station, which includes a working train order signal. He also scratch-built the trees and enhanced a Branchline Trains "Finley House" kit with real glass in the windows, curtains, plumbing and electrical stacks, eaves troughs and downspouts, and other details. The vehicles are by M2 Autothentics, enhanced with drivers and period-appropriate licence plates. The windmill is an etched kit from TractorFab. Trevor's friend Simon Parent custom built the locomotive from a kit he designed.
