East Salamanca NY 1965. B&O F7 4538 is waiting patiently for her crew before heading north to Rochester with coal for Kodak, while the caboose of a southbound [westbound in the B&O Timetable] empty hopper train waits to make its way back to the mines around Punxsutawney, Pa. The old caboose is a survivor from the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway which had been incorporated into the B&O on January 1st 1932. She shows the signs of the 1960 rebuild with a streak of fuel oil dripping from the reservoir for the new oil stove that replaced the old coal burner.
