it's WIRING!!!!!!!
I've been soldering feeders and stringing wire for a week!
What's that one thing in the hobby that just drives you NUTS?
If there's one thing I hate it's
Coming up against an obstacle you know you can overcome, but procrastinating and not getting anything done.
and
Knowing what you want to do but not having the money to pull it off for a while.

It's like you're reading my mind!
........it is people that don't finish their sentences.
How about doing something that you know is not a good idea, but doing it anyway, and then suffering a disaster that you knew would happen. For example trying to bend a slightly warped, but very important structural element of a building back to flat by hand and watching several hours of carefully weathered and prepared wall snap in half.

...it would be crazy liars.
Oh, you meant trainwise. Okay. I think it would be the limited number of Canadian models out there. All SD40-2's that the CPR bought had the straight style steps while the American models have slanted stairs. This makes no sense because the CPR had a very large roster of SD40-2's (5500 series to the 6000 series). Atlas now makes an RS11. the CPR had between 50-100 RS10's. The only difference was the corners on the roof. the RS11 had the notch for the numberboard while the RS10 had the corners rounded. minor difference when you think about it.
to make it short; lack of accurate Canadian models (at low prices).

I guess along those same lines would be folks who just can't let something go. Give it a rest, you two! Eek!

HEY!!! I did let it go! That was meant as a simple joke. I used my sixth sense.
list of senses:
1) sight
2) hearing
3) touch
4) smell
5) taste
6) humo(u)r
ROFL.
-Buying lottery tickets and not winning.
-Going out with a really good looking girl only to find out she's stuck on another guy...
-Buying a new vehicle only to discover there's little nicks and scratches in the paint.
-Having my mom walk in unannounced while I'm watching an "adult" movie.
-Having a co-worker not speak to me because I had to get onto her for breaking rules.
-Not being able to cut my grass because of the constant rain the last three weeks.
-Not caring anymore if I'm ever interested in model railroading again!.
How's that?.

Yea...
"... its trying to limit myself to just one thing to hate."
The thing I hate MOST is the sound of one of MY brass locomotives hitting a concrete floor. Not that I would particularly like the sound of one of yours doing it either, but you understand what I mean.
I also hate to get ready to paint since three moves and a paint booth ago. I procrastinate and wait until I have a bunch of stuff ready to go and then have a time trying to manage 100 plus wet pieces at the same time without screwing anything up.

Was that sarcasm?
How about 2 things I hate: Too little time and not nearly enough money to fulfill even a fraction of my model RR fantasies. Sigh!
***Tracklayer, I'll take all the excess rain you can spare. Looking at a hay shortage here and it is costing me model RR funds.

Lynn, that's the one aspect of building a layout that I really look forward to.LOL Look at what others here on the forum have done, get a clear idea what you want the finished backdrop to accomplish and take your time. If you don't like the results, take a breather and then do it over (starting with a fresh base). Every time something doesn't work you can apply what you have learned from the experience on your next effort. You can do it!
...Paying 24.95 for a few sprues of plastic in a kit that costs $1.00 to make.
1. Scrounging for months to get the parts I need to build/detail a locomotive.
2. Spending 3 weeks doing all the work.
3. Spending 3 days masking/painting/and decaling.
4. Seeing a ready to run version get released 2 days later that looks better/costs less!
