xtrkcad program to print or post
Posted by slow train Ed on Thursday, June 7, 2007 4:42 PM

hi all have read several posts on here. What I need to know is everytime I try to print thetrack plan I'm trying to develop, the xtrak program does not show the print icon lite up.Do I have to be a member of ztrakcad to get it to print? I am very slow at learning the program but do have a 11'x13' two layer layout started , in ho scale ,with a helex in one corner and track going the complete distance around three walls. If someone could tell me on how to print or get it from their program I would put it on here so maybe could get some advice ,on the layout I am desizning ,to make it better.

thank you for your time and advice.   slow train Ed

Ed,

I just looked at my XTrkCad program and didn't find a printer icon in the toolbar....did you try going to "File", "Print"? Where do you see a printer icon? You must have registered the software since you were able to create a layout larger than a 4x8.

You don't need to send anything in...do you remember registering the program with the product key? The registration key was on the web page that you downloaded from. I was under the impression that unless you registered, you couldn't creat a layout bigger than a 4x8.

Go to: http://ca.geocities.com/sillub@rogers.com/sillubtech/freereg.html to get the registration code if you don't have it. There are also links to FAQ's about the software.

On a side note: do you have a default printer setup in your Control Panel?

Ok ,you are right with that number.Or the key.I don't know about the registration but I just put in the size and started working on it.That still doesn't tell me way I can't print any part or all of the layout?

One you get in to the print menu you need to select the area/pages you want to print.  Just click on the trackplan, and you'll see how that works.  Then the print button should activate.  You can click 'snapshot' to print the whole layout on one sheet.

Jeff But it's a dry heat!

But thats what I have been telling .When I go to the print set up or the print in the file,  it just shows print but not in bold lettering, like everything else on the setup pages. It won't let me set any pages or areas for printing.

Ed,

When the print window opens up, click on your layout plan. The screen should turn black and the print button will be highlighted. You can then manipulate the scale size to determine the number of pages you want to print. If you want the entire layout on one page, select "Snapshot".

From the "Help" button on the Print window: The Print button prints the selected pages and removes the Print dialog.  It is not enabled until you have selected some pages to print.

I hope this helps.
