Conrail Questions:
Posted by METRO on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 7:04 PM

So my new freelanced Conrail Fenway Division is coming along well in the planning and pre-production stage but I've got a few loose ends to tie up regarding my equipment roster.

First, Although Conrail interchanged with pretty much everyone, does anyone know what the more commonly seen visiting rolling stock in the Boston area was about ten years ago? I'm betting a lot of New England railroads, Canadian Pacific and CSX but I could be wrong.

Second, I know the Boston Line was primarily GE diesels in the mid-90s, but what EMD diesels could also be found?  Again, I've got my ideas, mostly SD50s, SD40-2s and GP38-2s but again I could be wrong.

Third, How comon was it to see older Conrail engines without the white safety stripe by the mid-90s? I know Conrail was repainting everything in the Quality scheme by then but I've seen a few pictrues of engines without even the white stripe.

Anything else anyone thinks would be helpful would be apprecaited too!

Thanks!

There could have been a good amount of Burlington Northern cars and loco's because BN leased some engines to conrail during that time so that could help you with both cars and locos might be nice to have some green leasers with all that blue!Smile [:)]
Long Live The Burlington Northern!
