Get to spend some quality time on the RR
Posted by beegle55 on Thursday, May 10, 2007 2:51 PM

Today will be the first time in weeks that I will be able to spend some quality time with my layout. I am going to have to clean the track again and do some general clean-up, after that, more breaking in of my new P2K engine and Atlas Trainman CSX covered hopper. I've also got some work to do on the mountain, reground foaming the top, and I have some tree's that need to be placed. After that, the next big thing will be reworking the inner mainline... :( this is going to drive me insane, I can feel it already... Just thought I'd share!

You, too?  I have had the same feeling about my own railroading, beegle55.  It has taken many weeks of stumbling and fumbling to get my track to where I can run it well...mostly because I had to learn how to run it efficiently by myself.  I guess I am now officially a "slow learner."  Anyway, I have had a couple very satisfying, even fun, hours over the past week where things worked well and reliably.  I still have to swap the rubber-tired axle out of my SW8 that seems to be incapable of getting over much of my yard track.  Once that is done in a couple of weeks, I hope to have a real switching session.

I am happy to hear that you are enjoying quality time running trains.  Thanks for your post.
