Thanks Walthers!
Posted by chessiecat on Monday, May 7, 2007 3:26 PM
I dug my BL2's and Fa's out of storage for the first time in at least 5 years and when I tried to run them the BL2's both had split gears and one of the FA's had two axles split. I e-mailed Walthers service dept. on May 2 and was told they would replace all 14 axles at no charge. I received them today May 7 and just wanted to commend Walthers for their policy and for the speed in satisifying a customer. If I can complain about a bussiness when they do wrong, then I should praise them when they do right!  Thanks Walthers! Jim

I had the same Issue with one P2K GP30 but I own 2.  Walthers sent me new axles for both locos even tho only one needed them.  They told me that this is a QC problem that Life Like was having and they will stand behind the products even tho my loco was made years before the take over.  That made me a customer for life.

That's great.    Walther's has had a great impact on this hobby, it's good to see they are still providing great service.

Enjoy

I have to agree that Walther's is demonstrating their leadership in this hobby with great service.  I recently bought a custom-painted HO scale GP-9 at a train show and found the engine to run jerky.  I tried everything to get it running better and failed.  I called Walther's and a service technician said to mail it in and he would get it running perfectly.  The fella replaced both trucks, the circuit board, lubed the unit and got it running in perfect condition.

Obviously, I'm a very happy customer of Walther's and will buy from them often.

I just received two sets in the mail yesterday for a GP-20. One more loco on the road again. Now if they could just agree on the replacement wheels for the traction tires on the SW-8 life would be grand. Depending on who you talk to at Walthers it is a warrenty item or no it is not. At $2.50 a set it won't break the bank but they should have a huddle and decide on a uniform answer. This is not a slam on Walthers just making a comment. I love getting their catalogs in the mail. I read them a dozen times before they get filed. Tks Walthers.
