Im wondering, if the BLI blue line locos work on DCC, If they do, what needs to happen for DCC, and is the sound dead on the unit?

As Don pointed out, you can just add (plug in) a decoder to a Blueline locomotive to make it DCC. Seems like a nice way to do things.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
I spoke with BLI this morning on that very topic. They say just adding a decoder will allow for DCC control of the loco and all functions, including sound. In the ads, the listed suggested decoders are all basic type four function models.
This is a smart as well as logical approach. So, of course, I have two on order.
