N scale roadbed for HO scale track?
Posted by BruceJob on Monday, May 7, 2007 8:54 AM

Hi, all...

Remember the Turtle Creek construction series in MR a while back? The author used N scale cork roadbed for HO track. He split the two halves of the roadbed and inserted a strip of cork sheet as a filler. What are the dimensions of that filler piece to get the proper roadbed width?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Don't bother with the filler. Just lay it 'as is' without splitting it (IIRC, it happens to be exactly the same width as HO scale ties); then just form the shoulder ballast slope...with ballast. Looks better than the split-cork shoulders.
