Highly anticipated, anyone else share the same enthusiasm?

If so, which roadname and what configuration (DCC Sound, DC or Blue Line DC Sound) are you most likely to get?

I ordered 6 of them a year ago this coming Saturday. Three with sound and three without sound in UP paint.....I'll believe they're here when my dealer calls me and says he has them in his hand. The delivery schedule had been pushed back so many times I was beginning to wonder if they would ever be delivered.

I ordered one in CSX from the blueline, im a little ticked to find out they are doing them in the Diversity scheme. Other than that, getting a model with sound for $99 bucks plus a decoder is ok in my book, i hope they release a sound sample soon though.

The sound units you ordered, are they the Blueline ones?

I am thinking of asking one for my birthday.  I would prabaly get it in in undec or BHP(cool paint scheme) and then paint for Southern.

Have one on order, not Blue Line, UP paint. According to BLI, 25Apr, they are now shipping.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice, there is.

Does anyone know when the Blueline one is supposed to be available?

Thanks,

Iceman,

All of the units I ordered are the BLI (not BlueLine) units.

Smoke, The BLI website says June. You can keep up with it by clicking delivery schedule at the top of the home page. They said the regular AC6000 was April two months ago, so July is probably more realistic.

Was thinking I'd get a couple Blue Lines with sound, UP colors.  Glad I decided not to hold my breath for them.

This will sound like blasphemy or at least thickness of skull on my part, but I simply do not see the fascination with any BLI stuff.  But then again, I'm usually a decade behind any current technology.....Sound and DCC are nice, but, to my eye, the BLI diesels do not have as crisp detail on their body moldings as Athearn, Atlas, Kato or P2K do.  Just my $0.02, adjusted for inflation....I'll go back to my LP's, Leica M3 and Hammond B3 now.....

I currently have 5 of the BLI AC6000CWs 3 have sound and 2 do not.  I really like the sound of these engines alot and run the three all the time but the non sound units I do not even have out of the box.  I had them more than a year and tehy have not left the box.  I decided I liked the sound unit ones better.  I am not looking forward to the newer Blue line ones but at $99 it is a great deal considering I paid $210 for the sound unit ones a year+ ago.  I wonder if they will run good MU'd with the 3 I have now if they get decodered up?

Generally speaking, I'm not interested in any locomotive that requires more than four characters to describe. So for instance SD9 yes, ACDC9000BigMAC-2 or whatever, no.

Just ordered 2 in UP colors.  Hey, for $100 with sound, you can't beat it.  I did check with BLI and verified all sounds will work when you install a decoder for motor and lights.

I can't wait till mine gets here.  I ordered a Bluline undecrated one, so we'll see how it sounds in about a week and a half or so.
